I am a second year undergraduate student at the Boston University studying Biology with specialization in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Genetics on the pre-medical track. I was born in Brockton Massachusetts; yet, raised most of my life in the beautiful islands of Cape Verde. I moved back to the US when I was 17 to pursue my academic education, where biology has emerged as a path to medicine and ultimately to community by becoming a physician. As part of SURGE Lab, I am interested in investigating on past and current events that are perpetuating disparities within healthcare possible interventions that will help lead the way towards achieving health equity
