Chibueze Nwaiwu is a General Surgery resident at Brown University. Proudly Nigerian, he considers himself a global citizen with a responsibility to the world, regardless of individuals' background, location, or socioeconomic status. Dr. Nwaiwu's interests lie in the intersection of surgery, innovation, and artificial intelligence, and he believes that this will culminate in a climacteric shift in the current paradigms of surgical care delivery globally. He serves as the Surgeon Innovator-in-Residence at Activ Surgical Inc., a Boston-based medical technology company with a mission to empower surgeons and democratize surgery by coupling computer vision and artificial intelligence/machine learning-based systems with existing surgical systems and human decision-making.
